           Monday July 21, 2008

      Day 1 of Salem Camp D.A.R.E. is a very busy day beginning at Andrew Lewis Middle School traveling to the camp by school bus.  Upon arrival at the camp, each camper attends orientation and is assigned to either the blue or white team.  After lunch the activities begin.

Low Ropes Course

   The low ropes course offers the campers  a chance to work together as a group for the first time in achieving a number of goals where teamwork is essential.

Fire Safety

  Members of the Salem Fire Department provide the campers with a lesson about fire safety.  As shown below they also participate in water relays during the fire safety training.

D.A.R.E. Lesson

    The D.A.R.E. Lessons are created to compliment the D.A.R.E. Courses used in the schools.

Wagon Ride

The day is capped off with a wagon ride.
