| In May of each year, the Salem Police Department sponsors a picnic for all fifth grade students who have successfully completed the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Program. The students are transported to Longwood Park for a day of games, food and demonstrations. Police Officers donate their time to cook and prepare lunch. School staff provides supervision during activities. | |
